The sudden end of an era

Nicholas Roerich, who traveled in Asia during the 1920s, transmitted this Tibetan prophecy of the end of the present era:

“First will begin an unprecedented war of nations (as was evidenced by the world wars, where men butchered one another en masse, and for nought! Not even a single benefit arose from the wars). Afterwards brother will rise against brother. Oceans of blood shall flow. And the people shall cease to understand one another. They shall forget the meaning of the word teacher. But just then shall the Teachers appear and in all the corners of the world shall be heard the true teaching. To this word of truth shall the people be drawn, but those who are filled with darkness and ignorance shall set obstacles. As a diamond glows the light in the tower of the Lord of Shambhala [refers to a certain hidden civilization]. One stone (of merit or virtue) on his ring (the store of accumulated merit) is worth more than all the world’s treasure. Even those who BY ACCIDENT help the Teachings of Shambhala will receive in return a hundredfold. Already, by this time, many warriors of the truth are reincarnated. Only a few years shall elapse before everyone shall hear the mighty steps of the Lord of the New Era. And one can already perceive the unusual manifestations and encounter unusual people. Already they open the gates of knowledge and ripened fruits are falling from the trees…”

  1. Baha’u’llah was the most recent of Divine Messengers who have appeared in the world, from the dawn of Humankind. He was born to a family of Persian nobility, in northern Iran, in 1817. He chose to live an early life of service to that country’s poor, and became an adherent of the Faith of His immediate Predecessor, al-Bab, in the 1840’s. When al-Bab was executed, by the Persian government, in 1850, Baha’u’llah and many other members of the Babi Faith were cast into prison. Whilst in a prison dungeon, Baha’u’llah had a vision, in which He received the details of His Mission to the world. This was in 1853. Ten years later, having been exiled to Baghdad, then part of the Ottoman Empire, He proclaimed His Message of the Oneness of mankind, to His family and other followers. He was shortly thereafter exiled again, this time to Constantinople (Istanbul). He would be exiled further, two more times, ending up in Akka, in what is now Israel. His earthly life ended, in a modicum of freedom, at a small mansion in Bahji, north of Haifa, Israel, in May, 1892. I have explained His basic Teachings before, on my blogsite, and will continue to do so.

We Baha’is will, of course, do much of the teaching. Like-minded souls, themselves not declared Baha’is, are also coming forward and propagating the basic teachings of the Baha’i Faith.
